Reading Goals

Problem and Solution

We challenged ourselves over the past few literacy sessions, to write, edit and present our work about the story ‘Honey Bird and Badger’. We read half of the story ‘Honey Bird and Badger’ and had a go at predicting the end of the story. We then edited our work, and used the app ExplainEverything to type, draw and record our predictions! Aren’t we clever?!

Creative Prep Authors!

Some of our Prep students have been working hard this week at being creative writers. They read half of the story The Hairy Question and had to write their own ending. Once the students had written their stories they were then edited. The students then used the iPad app Explain Everything to type up their ending to the story along with an illustration. Finally the students recorded their story endings focusing on their reading goal for the week ‘expression’. Have a listen to their fabulous work.

Popplet

The Prep students have been learning about how livings things survive and thrive in the wild. The students have used Popplet to brainstorm some animals they believe they will see at the zoo and what food they think these animals eat.

Where’s Wally?

We have been learning about location words this week! We made and hid our Where’s Wallys around the room, took photos and wrote down where we found them, using location words! We have been leaning to use the iPad App ‘popplet’ as a way to display our thinking, and show how our ideas link together. We even changed our names so that they started with a ‘W’! Aren’t they great!
